- 1). In your 6-quart stock pan, bring 4 quarts water to a boil.
- 2). With the long tongs, place your pint jar into the boiling water. Make sure it is completely submerged.
Let it boil for one minute. - 3). Use the tongs to remove the jar from the water and place it on the cooling rack to cool. It will take 10 minutes for it to cool completely.
- 4). Drop the lid in the boiling water and boil it for one minute. Remove it to the cooling rack as well.
- 5). Fill the cooled jar with sterilized water. Leave 2 inches of empty space at the top of the jar.
- 6). Add ½ teaspoon of plain, non-iodized salt to the sterilized water.
- 7). Screw the lid down tightly on the jar.
- 8). Shake the solution for one minute or until the salt is completely dissolved.
- 9). Use the eyedropper to apply the solution to your dog's eye. Five or six drops per eye should be enough to cleanse the eye.
